France crash out of World Cup
The nightmare is finally over for France and their supporters, though probably not in the way they all would have hoped. France are out of the FIFA 2010 World Cup following defeat to hosts South Africa. Bafana Bafana held a 2-0 lead in the game following first half goals from Bongani Khumalo & Katlego Mphela.
France were reduced to 10 men after Yoann Gourcuff was show a straight red card for raising his elbow while challenging for a header in the RSA penalty area. It seemed that the most unlikely of stories was to come true with a glimmer of hope of qualification for the final 16 for Bafana.
It was not to be for the South Africans though as results went against the in the Mexico – Uruguay match. A Florent Malouda goal also dented their goal difference. France and South Africa are out of the World Cup for 2010. We are sure it is not the last we have heard of the Vuvuzela though!
